National Geographic Event: Chasing Cherry Blossoms
Attendees pay for their own charges
The event, "From The Archive: Chasing Cherry Blossoms," will highlight the life of Eliza Scidmore, National Geographic magazine's first official female writer, photographer, and board member. Miss Scidmore was also instrumental in bringing cherry trees to Washington, DC. We're bringing her story to life through images from our photography archive, and with narration by archivist Sara Manco. Actress Anne Stone will join her and share Miss Scidmore's colorful commentary.
The event will be held at National Geographic's Grosvenor Auditorium, 1600 M St. NW. Free parking is available in our garage, whose entrance ramp is on M St. near the corner of 16th St. NW.
Full price is $25. DCV members will get a 25% discount if they purchase tickets online and use the code ARCHIVE25. Free parking is available in or garage for them as well.
