About this event
This month we are focusing on comedy movies. As we all know, comedy movie is designed to make the audience laugh through amusement and most often work by exaggerating characteristics for humorous effect. Comedy movies can be divided into sub-types or genres because humor can be incorporated into many other types of films.
The two movies we’ve selected are from “best comedy” lists found in AFI, Vulture, Indiewire, and Rolling Stone. They represent movies from two eras: the Golden Age of Hollywood (1930s-60s) and the period after. The movies are “Ninotchka” (1939), a satire and romantic comedy, and “Election” (1999), also a romantic comedy and a drama. Both are available on Prime Video. Please see the movies before the meeting. Attendance is limited to 16, first-come-first-served basis, and please sign up on the waitlist if registration is full.
Instructions on accessing the meeting will be sent the morning of the event.
If you haven't used Zoom before, general instructions can be found here: Zoom instructions for participants
