Join Laura Mahon for another Art Introspection, this time looking at one of Picasso’s Rose Period paintings. Painted early in his career, this painting portrays several circus performers, often likened to Picasso’s development from childhood into adulthood.  This painting is rich with possible interpretations and gives us a glance into Picasso’s early life. This painting is currently on show at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C.

Share your thoughts and join in some collective art making in response to our discussion. (Artmaking is not compulsory, however if you have access to art materials, please bring them along.)

In advance of this program, you are welcome to visit the National Gallery of Art to view this painting in person. Alternatively, it is available to view online below.
