Anybody who follows the Washington Nationals knows sportscaster Johnny Holliday. Until his late 2018 retirement, he co-hosted the “Nats Xtra” pre-and-post game shows on MASN. He was nominated for the National Radio Hall of Fame in 2018. He’s been a voice in DC Metro sports for more than 40 years,

Johnny Holliday is an American radio and TV sportscaster and a former Top 40 radio disc jockey. As co-host of the “Nats Xtra” pre-game and post-game shows on MASN, Johnny has been nominated for the 2018 class of the National Radio Hall of Fame in the category for local/regional broadcasters with 20 or more years in the industry. In 2014, he was an inductee into the Washington DC Sports Hall of Fame and The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Hall of Fame. Johnny has been recognized by the College Football Hall of Fame with the Lindsay Nelson Outstanding Sportscaster Award, among other honors.

Johnny Holliday moved to Washington in 1969. He has been the voice of the Maryland Terrapins, broadcasting football and men’s basketball for the University of Maryland. He has also called play-by-play for The University of California, Stanford, Naval Academy, Washington Bullets, Oakland Raiders and San Francisco Warriors. He has hosted shows for the San Francisco Giants and Washington Redskins. He fills in on Nationals baseball broadcasts on MASN.
