Please join us on a walking tour of the Tregaron Conservancy led by Jeffrey Catts, a landscape architect who is a volunteer at the Conservancy and who previously worked for Washington Parks & People.  Tregaron is located in Cleveland Park and contains trails, lush woodland gardens, open fields, meadows and a lily pond. Jeff will tell us about the history andfeatures of this beautiful naturalistic garden that was originally designed by then-leading landscape architect Ellen Biddle Shipman in 1912. We'll see many majestic trees and a variety of mostly-native flowering shrubs and perennials. Tregaron adjoins the Klingle Valley Trail which connects up with Rock Creek Park trails.

Our tour will take us along mulched trails which feature some rustic stairways and stepping stones.  Note that some of the terrain may be uneven.

Villagers will meet at 3100 Macomb Street NW, very close to the driveway of the Washington International School.  The walk will last about 1 1/2 hours and afterwards, there will be an option for Villagers to get together for lunch at a nearby restaurant on Connecticut Ave. NW across from the Zoo or in Cleveland Park.

NOTE:   There are no restrooms at the Tregaron Conservancy and a nearby restroom is at Starbuck's on Connecticut Ave. across from the National Zoo or the Cleveland Park Public Library on Macomb and Connecticut Aves. NW.

15 guests are invited.
