Carol and Ken, inspired by memories of “Here we come a-Wassailing,” invite those of you who are free Christmas Eve, to share the spirit of the Holidays, of Christmas Eve and the third night of Hanukah, at a post-dinner Holiday Dessert Party with wassail (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), songs, gifts and desserts.

To add to the fun of food, drink and the excellent company, we have some talented DCV choral singers and a guitar to lead us in some Christmas Carols, there will also be some time to not-sing but chatter, AND there will be a special kind of gift exchange!

PLEASE do not bring any food or drinks to be consumed at the Party, (that will be supplied by the hosts).

BUT, DO BRING A WRAPPED-UP GIFT OF “FUN” FOOD, with a special note on it, to be exchanged at the party. Here are the gifting rules:
-- The value of the food should be under $10.
-- The note needs to wish the recipient of the gift a happy holiday and list any contents in the gift-food that a person might be allergic to e.g. nuts, as well as letting people know if it is gluten-free.
-- The note should not be signed.
-- In the spirit of Swedish Christmas exchanges traditions, if you have the energy and desire, you are encouraged to write the note in poetry or doggerel!
-- The gifts will be exchanged one at a time randomly, and if the recipient finds it is the gift they brought or they are allergic to anything in the note, they can exchange it with the next person who will be receiving a gift until everyone has a gift they are not allergic to!
-- The gifts are to be taken home and opened Christmas morning, on the fourth day of Hanukah or whatever seasonal holiday you feel like celebrating BUT NOT at the Christmas Eve Party!

So we know how much food and drink to have please RSVP to carolgalaty@gmail.com, no later than December 20th. If you have questions give us a call, 202-232-7259.

Hope to see you, Carol (and of course Ken)

* Remember, we have an elevator if needed!
