Whether a hospitalization is planned in advance or results from an emergency situation, it is a daunting experience. The best way to deal with it is to be prepared. What items and documents should you take with you to the hospital? What questions do you need to ask the medical professionals at various stages of a hospitalization? What services are available to help patients and their families/support systems? These questions and more will be answered by our speaker, Bonnie Friedman, as she discusses practical approaches to successfully navigating the hospital system.

Ms Friedman is the author of Hospital Warrior: How to Get the Best Care for Your Loved One. She is a professional communicator with more than 40 years of experience, including at the NIH and OSHA. She wrote this book based on 24 years of advocating for her husband through the course of 14 separate hospitalizations.

This event is co-sponsored with Foggy Bottom West End Village.
